CLUTTER |
Taking the art of junk to whole a new level. . . |
The backwoods logger faced a multitude of challenges. |
Falling those monster trees was just the beginning! Somehow he had to get the timber to the mill. The equipment used (and abused!) required maintenance and supplies. Oil, water, sand, slab wood, and other materials were needed to keep the operation going. The Backwoods Log Train supplied these anywhere they were required. |
What a sight it must have been! |
You
build each car from the frame up using my castings, stripwood, styrene,
and decals. No soldering is required in construction. They come complete
less trucks, couplers, and brake rigging. |

LT1 - Water Car |

A steam engines best friend! The small pump fills the 350 gallon tank from the nearest supply, usually the closest creek. It is also mighty handy for putting fires out along the right of way. This little jewel is covered with hoses, pipes, valves, and rust! |

Sand was used as “tractive” enhancement for the engines along the steeper grades and was also necessary to slow the logs down that were skidded along roads. Ten sturdy oxen could easily be mowed over by several thousand board feet of runaway logs! The distinctive bracing and large nbw detail gives this car a stout, heavy look and feel. |

The oil car is simply a grungy mess! Years of spilled oil and soaked rags adorn the tanks and deck. The double tank design is a true testament to the loggers ingenuity and ability to adapt materials at hand to any situation. |

This car is a cluttered but well organized junk heap. The scrap bin contrasts nicely with all the tiny gears and odd bits crammed onto the shelves. The small ledge jutting out from the bin supports a wide variety of assorted spare piping. |

The sister car to the pipe car, this little gem is a disorganized pile of junk! Parts and tools are scattered on top of, under, behind, and below the workbenches. Think of this car as a mobile repair facility complete with all the necessities of home. Notice the small red rag hanging on the front railing. The most detailed of the set, my personal favorite. |

LT6 - Flat Cars |

A pair of flats with a very interesting donkey load. What a common sight it was at one time to see these mechanical beasts relocating for another days hard work hauling logs. These cars are also available without the loads for your modeling pleasure. |

LT7 - Wood Slab Cars |

A pair of cars used to haul all the slab wood a company could handle! Donkey engines, locomotives, even the camp cook relied upon this pair to keep the wood supply stocked up. The hard working loggers retired to the camp every evening for a hot meal, courtesy of the slab wood hauled by this duo. |
