The O Scale Rigging Shed is part of the Deer Creek Land & Timber Company. It features everything pictured except track, scenery, and vehicles. Loaded with that classic SierraWest feel, just take in all that wonderful junk and clutter on all four sides. New castings created especially for this kit are central to the storytelling theme. I make and cast my own details in resin and white metal for the utmost crispness, quality, originality, and value. Masters are made and castings selected from my vast library to tell a specific story. These are details you will only find in a SierraWest kit. The rigging shed also features a fully detailed interior for those great open door shots...
As you follow the pictures around the little shed it becomes evident that the details are literally surrounding the structure. Study the photographs carefully and take it all in. The diorama is 7" x 10".
The shed is a laser cut wood frame so you can spend your time weathering and adding the siding. Comprehensive instructions are included detailing every step of board on board modeling from the coloring and weathering to the tools and tips/tricks used to create realistic walls as pictured. I present clinics all over the country on this very subject. I know what you want to learn and how best to present it. I have refined these techniques over many, many years - they're worth the price of the kit alone!

Creating a structure with extreme character is a challenge when it has such a simple shape. You must turn to detailing each piece of wood which for me is one of the appeals of modeling the backwoods and the dilapidated buildings associated with logging. Now enlarge this conversation from a single piece of wood to an entire structure. Weathering and texture combine to create the age and define the character of a building. Take it one step further and include entire scenes with multiple structures and a story emerges with just the way that single piece of wood has been weathered. Pretty cool stuff... The contrast created between the rigging shed and tool shed tells this story all by itself. The tool shed is in better condition and is newer than the rigging shed. Evident by the difference in texture and weathering not to mention the way the details have been scattered about. The shots below are included for you to get a feel of how the rigging shed was created board by board. I love the rough texture and dusty appearance of the walls. I also enjoyed modeling the doors with the rusty hinges, latch, and door knobs. Learn all these techniques and more when building the rigging shed. The entire Deer Creek series of kits includes this level of detail. I accept nothing less!
