Rod Fredericks handed me the following pictures at the Portland Narrow Gauge Convention in 1999. These were the first pictures of a built-up Shelby's Marine I had seen. Rod's modeling is first rate and his attention to detail is obvious.

The interior detail Rod added to the main boathouse is an excellent touch.

I love the crane and rowboat at the front of the main dock. Rod had not yet poured his water when he took these shots.

The small bait shack and extra detailing on the ramp are worthy additions.

An overall view of Rods Shelby’s Marine diorama. Incredible!

Keith Mader added a lot of extra detailing and stonework to his Shelby’s diorama. He also changed the layout of the buildings to fit his space. The difference between Keith and Rod's Shelby's illustrates and interesting point. Keith's stonework and layout changes really make this diorama look like it fits an eastern locale. A dramatic change from Rod's southern or western flavor.

Keith is from Canada and won Best of Show and First Place in the craftsmen division with this diorama at his local Maritime Federation of Model Railroaders annual convention.
