Study the photographs carefully and take in all the detail.
Remember folks, this is an HO Scale diorama!
Like all SierraWest kits, all four sides are highly detailed.
(Good luck choosing the view you like best...)

SierraWest kits are so much more than a structure and a handful of details. The diorama creation is paramount in the development of each new kit. Instructions are provided leading you through every phase of construction including tool selection, assembly, weathering and aging, diorama composition, and scenery application. When you view the pictures of the Loco and Service Shops remember this. SierraWest kits are unique in the level and amount of detail provided. Since all four sides are fully detailed, you have a ton of flexibility in placement and view ability.

The Loco Shop is an overnight light repair shop for the locomotives. The crew would perform basic maintenance while servicing and preparing them for the woods crew to take over in the morning. This was a very efficient way to keep the operation running smoothly. The Loco Shop is the perfect compliment to your existing engine house facilities.

The Loco and Service Shops utilize Laser Cut components that include fully-framed sub-walls, assembly jigs, and wonderful windows that supplement the board on board building process, aid construction, and leave you in charge of the finished product. Clutter, castings, and scene creation like only SierraWest can achieve. Everything pictured is included except scenery, and track. Our famous comprehensive manual and digitally reproduced accurate templates guide you thoughtfully along the construction process. I consider myself a teacher in addition to being a manufacturer. My manual provides guidance and confidence building techniques allowing you to reproduce the results pictured here. I am so proud of the number of customers who have won major national awards with the SierraWest kits they have constructed, following the provided instructions! Awesome new color sign sheets, stripwood, wire, tarpapers, corrugated metal, window glazing, lots more! New techniques and ideas are introduced to improve and expand your modeling capabilities. I am always pushing myself to set new standards, create new construction techniques, and improve and refine weathering and scenery methods. All this in addition to designing, creating, and manufacturing better castings, along with writing more precise manuals and templates... well you get the idea!

Designing and producing kits in both HO and the larger O Scale gives me a unique perspective.
I was tired of using the same techniques and construction methodology that I had used since I was ten years old. It was time for a fresh look and feel. I found that I could incorporate a superior level of detail and realism into the construction of the the Loco and Service Shops using O Scale techniques and influences. In fact, it was quite easy and very satisfying; just look at the results. SierraWest HO Scale kits represent an evolution in kit design and production. The Loco and Service Shops is produced with the heart and soul of an O Scale diorama!

Customers ask me all the time if these kits are difficult to build. The answer is NO!
They also inquire if a newbie can put it together. Yes they can.
My kits are very well designed and executed with thorough instructions, diagrams,
and tons of large clear photographs presented in a beautifully spiral bound manual.
Detailed assembly and weathering instructions are provided so a new modeler can
achieve results they will be very proud of. They are not snap together imports and take
care and time. A detailed list of suggested supplies including paints and chalks by brand
and color is included to get you going as well.

The Deer Creek Logging Camp includes multiple separate kits. The first released in the Fall of 2007 was Main Street. The second, Essentials, released in February 2008.Fall 2012 saw the Loco & Service Shops released with the Donkey Repair following closely. All four continue the unmatched tradition of my Twin Mills at Deer Creek Lumber Company series. The complete logging camp scene includes these kits combined with railroad camp creating the perfect companion to the Twin Mills Sawmill. A giant mill needs a big camp to keep all of the equipment and loggers well fed, and maintained! I have researched and developed a very realistic diorama based upon several different logging camps. Borrowing the most plausible features from each, siding, window type and placement, door layouts, roofing materials, overall appearance and feel are all based very closely upon prototype. The logging camp was a gritty, dirty place, perfect for the type of realistic weathering and aging I love to model!
