Quincy Salvage includes all of the details you have come to expect from SierraWest. Dozens of my exclusive resin and metal castings. Very, very large junk piles, stacks of barrels, two different fuel tanks with pump, hoses, and valves, shelves with tools, lockers and floor shelves, workbenches, even a rusty old abused vertical boiler left abandoned in the summer heat. I even included the two cement and one brick retaining wall castings. Over 100 beautiful hand crafted castings can be found in Quincy, almost all mastered new just for this kit.

As with all SierraWest kits cut and sorted high quality stripwood, tarpapers, and laser cut windows and shake shingles are included. Dry transfer decals for lettering the walls, signs and even the side of a truck or two make lettering much easier than a stencil or water slide decal. Brand new pre-weathered color advertising signs, made just for Quincy can be seen in the many photographs. Keep in mind these signs were simply cut from the sheet, rimmed with a little brown paint, then glued to the wall.

Here is a nice view of the large junk field. If you look very closely you can make out the Quincy Salvage logo on the door of the green pickup parked under the entrance canopy. (Also notice how the window is rolled half way down!) Details create a convincing scene. The two cement wall castings are also visible here. The comprehensive spiral bound construction manual covers every aspect of building Quincy. It takes the stress and guesswork out of the project for you so just relax and enjoy! An emphasis is placed upon scratch building techniques, weathering the various components, and creating tiny but important details like the one mentioned above. I cannot begin to count how many customers over the years have commented on how nervous they were to start one of the big kits but found it easy and fun once they finally got going. Many have found the confidence to scratch build structures for their layout after building one of my kits! This is the ultimate compliment for me.

Here is a nice view of the details tucked under the tree including the fuel tanks, pump, boiler, workbenhch, and other clutter. The trestle is seen in the foreground.
Accurate, digitally reproduced templates make constructing the structures and trestle a breeze. Our manual features many photographs, covering every inch of the diorama.

The scenery and vehicles and not included in Quincy. The manual provides information on the type of vehicles used and how to construct and weather the large pile of derelict Jordan vehicles. The Vintage Vehicles Erie B-2 Steam Crane is also not included but is available through Walthers.
