The original old mill: with its faded and dingy white siding provides an excellent contrast to the new open mill. The patch work mixing of plain and faded white siding creates a story all by itself. This mill is still operational providing two entry points for logs at the mill complex.
The “New” Mill
The “new” mill is open on all four sides for viewing the sawmill machinery. Included is the log deck, carriage, double saw husk, live rolls, cutoff saw, and dead rolls. Overhead belts drive the machinery and details. The second floor contains the saw filers room.
The Log Haul
The log haul connects to the deck via a mechanism than drives the log haul chain. The gears of the drive are visible in the extreme right of the picture where the logs enter the mill.
