Thank you for stopping by
SierraWest Scale Models is a small company founded on the principle that my customers are like myself. I want the highest quality products available to the fine scale modeler. No compromise is made in the design and manufacturing of my kits. I utilize the latest technology and work extensively with computers to insure accuracy in all phases of design.
SWSM was founded in January of 1995 and my first kit BlueSky Company was released later that year. I selected resin as my main medium and have since
then expanded to include resin and metal castings in my kits. The ability to use both materials has enabled me to offer the widest possible range of castings in the market today. The techniques I use to paint and weather the
castings yields a detail part with texture and character. But resin was not a substitute for quality stripwood! Sound scratch building techniques combined with my unique castings make for the finest craftsmen kits
available.
SierraWest OnLine is a large site containing a wealth of modeling information and hundreds of photographs. If you ever have a question please feel free to email me or better yet give me a call! To make your navigation of my site easier, I have provided a brief overview of several of the different main categories as well as a few frequently asked questions. Just click on the title to go to that particular page. The home page is always the best place to start with all the latest news.

Customers ask me all the time if these kits are difficult to build.
The answer is NO!
They also inquire if a newbie can put it together...
Yes they can.
My kits are very well designed and executed with thorough instructions,
diagrams, and tons of large clear photographs presented in a beautifully
spiral bound manual. Detailed assembly and weathering instructions
are provided so a new modeler can achieve results they will be very proud of.
They are not snap together imports and take care and time. A detailed list of
